Deep Colours of Late Summer

I love this sweet pea, in fact I love most sweet peas, but the darker and richer the better.  This is from a packet of cupid mix, a dwarf variety; I love the contrast with the Mexican marigolds.

A couple more photos of the multi-headed Sunflower Earthwalker.  I have a few plants scattered through the vegetable garden, although one was felled by an over-enthusiastic cucumber plant!

This year is my first attempt at growing Ipomea.  These deep purple and small flowered trumpets are planted in a large pot on the pergola.  They live up to their name of morning glory, as the flowers are usually finished by late morning.

They are one of my mother's favourite flowers, although she will only accept the classic blue like the ones above as the real thing!  Ironically this packet of seed should have been yellow.

And finally, this is Tortilla.  She is 16 months old now and was born to a semi-feral cat on our deck.  We had her (and her mum and siblings) neutered and also nursed her after a serious accident, but she thanked us by moving in with our neighbour.  They seem happy together and she still visits most days.
