Book Review: Maureen's Christmas Carol by Jonathan Hill

Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without Maureen, which is possibly a mixed blessing! Here she is back in a more contemplative mood, and that isn't just as the result of the enhanced festive sherry intake.

Jonathan Hill has neatly taken the classic Charles Dickens novel A Christmas Carol, and given it an all new Maureen twist, slipper in mouth and all.  The visits by the three spirits allow us to watch Maureen at her awful best and, as in the original, also encourages her think about the circumstances of others.

Against her better judgement, she decides to spend Christmas Day with her friend Louisa and some unintended and truly dreadful guests.  The meal from hell ensues with suitably hilarity and a positive outcome.  Although not for all!

An entertaining festive novella with a serious message that in no way spoils the fun.

More details and where to buy.
